Welcome to Slatters Development. We are delighted to present to you details of this exciting new development in the heart of Canterbury city centre, which aims to deliver a high quality hotel and separate roof-top destination restaurant, which will also provide opportunities for regeneration, conservation, employment and additional tourism.
Located in St Margarets Street on the site of the former Slatters Hotel and Ha-Ha Bar, it will regenerate a location and dilapidated buildings which are currently an eye-sore to the Canterbury street scene.

If you live in Canterbury or have ever visited, you will understand that it offers a vast diversity of attractions, whether visiting the Marlowe Theatre for a show, taking in the history of the cathedral, shopping at Whitefriars or a night out in one of the many pubs, clubs or restaurants.

Having now obtained full planning permission at the end of 2015, we are now targeting "start on site" mid 2019 with a completion early 2021.

We invite you to review this website which provides details of the proposed scheme and which demonstrates our commitment to contributing towards the cultural history of Canterbury.

International Hotel coming to Canterbury!

A new modern hotel located in the heart of Canterbury, offering 129 bedrooms and supplementary facilities to hotel residents and non-residents alike, including work space, meeting facilities and food & beverage services.

The hotel will be an internationally recognised brand and managed by one of the top global hotel management companies in order to ensure its success and capitalise from the many tourists, business travellers and visitors to Canterbury.

The Development Site & History

Redevelopment of the former Slatters Hotel site and renovation of existing listed buildings, which would significantly improve the existing street scene. Proposals encompass a new hotel, ground-floor retail space and a separate roof-top restaurant.

Scheme would deliver up to 100 new local jobs as well as benefits to tourism, conservation and regeneration, whilst providing much needed facilities for the many tourists and visitors to Canterbury.

Enjoy Views from the New Rooftop Restaurant

Proposals for a new roof-top restaurant providing a unique experience unlike anything else available in Canterbury, where diners will be able to enjoy unrestricted views towards the Cathedral. The ideal spot for relaxation.

The restaurant will provide a fine dining and events space for approximately 80-100 covers, plus private dining space, which we hope in itself, will become a destination venue for Canterbury.
